NACHP Distinguished Lecture Series with Dr. Blythe Winchester

CCHE would like to alert you to the Native American Center for Health Professions (NACHP) Distinguished Lecture Series featuring Dr. Blythe Winchester, an enrolled member of the Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians in Cherokee, North Carolina, coming up on Wednesday, December 5, 2018.

“Navigating the Health of Our Elders”
There are challenges in all areas of life and function for elders.  Indigenous elders, while facing disparities across all facets of care, are also facing unique challenges related to their health status and function.  Cultural awareness of heterogeneity of our tribes and the customs, traditions and roles of elders in communities help to provide insight and guidance around providing care.  Honoring our elders while providing supportive care in alignment with their goals helps our relationships and strength as communities.
